For this, the company's hunters were also equipped with flintlock muskets with bayonets of the 1738 model year. These muskets were probably mainly used for exercises and as spare weapons."
"The Karelian Hunter Corps' most famous effort was probably the one on the Oravai battlefield (finnish Oravainen), this decisive occasion that led to Sweden losing its eastern half of the country, Finland. In the middle of this mythical battle that gave rise to scores of epics, poems, songs and tales, the Karelian Hunter Corps was. There is much written about the Battle of Oravais, but it took place on 14 September 1808 and was decisive for the Finnish war of 1808-1809. The Karelian Hunter Corps came to play a major role in the beginning of the battle at the so-called Schwerin Bridge Fortress but also during the battle itself. In the middle of the war chaos was probably the hunter Johan Gadd. We don't know exactly what he did and how it went for him on this cruel day, but further research could occur tell you more about Gadd and his Karelian hunters."
