Facebook: Finnish Outlook "first log cabins"

In 1640, while the first log cabins in North America were being built, the practice wasn't exclusively Finnish or Swedish. The Finns, alongside Swedes, were instrumental in introducing log construction to the region, but the technique was also adopted by other settlers like the British, Scots, and Irish. The "first log cabins" were likely built in the New Sweden colony along the Delaware and Brandywine River valleys. Some notable examples of early log cabins include the Nothnagle Log House (built between 1638-1643) and the Lower Swedish Cabin (built around 1640-1650).
